In today’s tiebreak session of the 2012 World Chess Championship, Viswanathan Anand retained his title with a 2.5 to 1.5 victory over challenger Boris Gelfand in the tiebreak “mini match”. The second game of the tiebreak match was the sole game to end decisively, as Anand went up a pawn in the early going and ground out a win in seventy-seven moves.
